Here are the steps:
You have to know what the problem is you are trying to solve with exercise. The goal is then to keep the goal the goal!

You have to understand what normal is for you. The reality is that we ALL have unique ways in which we move, sleep, eat, and process life.

Understand the athlete you are today and set the expectations for the day. Decide if you are going into drive move, neutral or downshifting for the day
